Phishing Warning

Loan agencies are being target by malicious individuals posing as representatives from financial institutions to extort money from unsuspecting clients, which is called phishing.

Below you can find out everything you need to know about how to identify a phishing scam, and how to protect yourself in the future.

What are phishing scams?

Phishing is a scam designed to gain access to bank accounts. You are asked to disclose your credit card account information, passwords and PINS, etc. Other forms of the scam might have you speaking to scammers posing as official members of your financial service providers. The scammers may ask you to change your PIN or password, claiming that your account has been compromised. Do not trust anyone contacting you on these terms.

Phishing schemes can be stumbled upon via pop-up adverts online, spam e-mail, spam commenting on supposedly “trusted” websites, and even through SMSs and via telephone calls.

How can I avoid phishing scams

Avoid, at all costs, engaging with contact of this nature. Do not give out your PINs, or passwords to anyone under any circumstances.
